County, Idaho. As of the 2000 census Idaho Falls had a
total population of 50,730 (2003 estimate: 51,507).

ID Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Bonneville
and Jefferson Counties.
Things to Do in Idaho Falls
There is always something to do in Idaho Falls. In the
summer there is an annual beer fest that is one of the
largest in the western United States. We also have an
annual fireworks display that is said to be the largest
this side of the Mississippi. Every weekend is filled
with outdoor exhibits along the greenbelt, a farmers market
and two drive-in theaters. There are tons of recreational
activities available including biking, hiking, camping,
rock climbing, skiing, boating, fishing, hunting, kayaking,
white-water rafting and numerous walking trails around
several parks in town.
Weather In Idaho Falls
The weather is generally mild with warm summer days averaging
in the 80's and cool summer evenings averaging in the
50's. The winters can take some getting used to but the
'hard weather' days are few and far between. The city
and county does a fantastic job of keeping up with the
road maintenance. We have very few heavy snow days anymore
and the below zero days are usually fewer than ten in
the year and normally occur in January.
Great Location
Idaho Falls is within two hours of beautiful recreational
areas such as Sun Valley, West Yellowstone, Jackson Hole
and numerous campgrounds, ski hills and hiking trails.
Because of the stores located in Idaho Falls, it is also
a major shopping venue for people who live in close by
towns including Rigby, Ririe, Swan Valley, Rexburg, Terreton,
Roberts, Driggs, Victor, Arco, Mackay and Challis.
Idaho Falls Education
The educational talents available in Idaho Falls are
boasted to be some of the best in the country. Having
two sons of my own that have attended Idaho Falls schools
I know first hand that is true. We have been very pleased
with the local education system, teachers and administration.
Our schools repeatedly surpass national averages on academic
achievement scores.
